The Tragedy of Man, Scene One, 2019

$1700

The dramatic poem of the world-famous Hungarian writer Imre Madach, The Tragedy of Man, was published in 1862. Throughout the history of humanity, the work seeks answers to the great questions of existence, non-existence, and destiny. Through the stories and debates of the main characters, God, Adam, Eve, and Lucifer, they try to answer whether there is a meaning to human existence, and where the story of humanity can lead to.

I am trying to articulate here the debate and opposition between God and Lucifer. Perhaps it reminds you of Yin and Yang. In the battle of the two poles, we see the struggle between the dark and the light, the Creator and Lucifer. For my work, I used cardboard and tailoring patterns from Burda magazine with black ink painting.

With this one-of-a-kind NFT I am selling the signed physical artwork too. So you will receive the downloadable super high-definition digital copy (~20 MB) and the physical artwork (40×27 in) through the post. Postage included in the price.
