Gasmask Self Portrait, 2004

$970

This work I made in 2003 can also be interpreted as a unique art manifesto of myself. The mask worn on the scene refers to an industrial environment familiar from my childhood. The self-portrait carries the desire to show and hide, which is the peculiarity of being an artist. I guess since covid19 we can all relate to wearing masks so since then my work has gained additional meaning.

The self-portrait painted on cardboard with acrylic depict my face in a natural environment, equipped with an industrial mask. The blue sky is a symbol of faith and trust in the future.
