Bottle Top II., 2010

The picture was inspired by my Greece sailing experience. I went to the beach to collect some shells to give to my sweetheart. However, I found none of them because they are regularly collected by the local kids who sell them to tourists. Instead of shells, I found only discarded plastic caps. This experience inspired the image to paint a cap on the waterfront. The refined base colors have strong effects, and they also draw attention to plastic pollution. Today we now know how dangerous plastic is to sea life. Therefore we should all just collect plastic from the beaches and leave the sells where they belong.
