The Unbearable Lightness of Being, 1998 – Alpar Doczy

The Unbearable Lightness of Being, 1998

$2000

My work was inspired by Milan Kundera’s 1984, highly successful philosophical work. This was also my first self-portrait. This work depicts my inner war and then the process of silence provided by reconciliation. The cubist-constructivist face shape, the duality of the red and green colors used, symbolizes the Janus (dual) faces, separating a life full of past and present thoughts. The portrait can also be interpreted as an artistic resolution, like a kind of individual stand for the significance of the muse and the religious superior.

With this NFT I have also included some high-definition macro/close-up images so you can appreciate the details.
